Modification of Soil Physical Properties by Maize Straw Biochar and Earthworm Manure to Enhance Hydraulic Characteristics under Greenhouse Condition

چکیده
The deterioration of soil physical properties had led to a decrease in soil–water availability facility agriculture. Thus, an experiment was set up with five treatments 0% (CK, No additives), 3% biochar (BA3, Mass ratio), earthworm manure (QA3), 5% (BA5), and (QA5) investigate the effects on hydraulic characteristics under greenhouse conditions. including bulk density (BD) total porosity (TP) were measured; results showed that BA5 provided lowest BD (1.24 g·cm?3) highest TP (53.09%) 13.8% higher than CK. More importantly, saturated conductivity (KS), field capacity (FC), permanent wilting point (PWP), available water content (AWC) soils treated significantly those At same application rate, effect permeability water-retention manure, which soil–water-characteristic curve (SWCC) as > BA3 QA5 QA3 CK, FC AWC increased from 28.90% 14.13% respectively, 40.73% 21.91% BA5, respectively; KS, FC, PWP by 45.93%, 40.91%, 27.46% 54.96% compared respectively. revealed improvement conducive enhancement KS enhanced capacity, ultimately AWC. From perspective improving economic benefits, is considered be most beneficial.

Biochar Impacts on Soil Physical Properties and Greenhouse Gas Emissions
Biochar, a co-product of a controlled pyrolysis process, can be used as a tool for sequestering C in soil to offset greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and as a soil amendment. Whereas the impacts of biochar application on soil chemical properties are widely known, the research information on soil physical properties is scarce. The objectives of this review are to (i) synthesize available data on s...
متن کاملEffects of biochar amendment on soil aggregates and hydraulic properties
The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of biochar amendment on soil aggregate formation and stability, and soil hydraulic properties. Biochar produced from dairy manure was added to two different soils (a silty clay and a sandy loam soil) at a ratio of 2% (w/w in dry weight basis). Incubation experiments were conducted within a 90-d period with the soils (the controls) and the soi...

15 صفحه اولEffects of wheat straw biochar and irrigation water on hydraulic and chemical properties of a sandy loam soil after faba bean cultivation
Nowadays, applying soil amendments is one of the most important ways to cope with water shortages and improve soil physical properties. In this regard, a greenhouse experiment was conducted to study the effect of different levels of irrigation water and wheat straw biochar on physical and chemical properties of a sandy loam soil, after harvesting faba bean. The experiment was performed with 5 b...
متن کاملHardwood biochar and manure co-application to a calcareous soil.
Biochar may affect the mineralization rate of labile organic C sources such as manures via microbial community shifts, and subsequently affect nutrient release. In order to ascertain the positive or negative priming effect of biochar on manure, dairy manure (2% by wt.) and a hardwood-based, fast pyrolysis biochar were applied (0%, 1%, 2%, and 10% by wt.) to a calcareous soil. Destructive sampli...
